EastBridge Partners is an independent private equity firm based in Seoul, South Korea, founded in March 2011 by Kevin Lim. The firm manages eight funds with roughly $1.5 billion in assets and has backed 24 companies to date. Leadership includes Chairman Kevin Lim and CEO Dongsuk Choi, whose combined experience spans cross-border transactions and operational enhancement. EastBridge maintains offices in Singapore and Taiwan to support its Pan-Asia presence.
Focusing on mid-market buyouts and growth capital investments, EastBridge targets companies with enterprise values between $50 million and $500 million. Sector interests include consumer, bio/healthcare, technology, media & telecom, advanced materials, and clean energy. The firm seeks proprietary deal flow, typically investing in eight to ten companies per fund. EastBridge builds value by working closely with management teams and industry experts to improve operations and accelerate expansion, especially in Korea, Greater China, and Southeast Asia.
EastBridge demonstrates a clear commitment to clean energy and battery technology through its dedicated green energy fund, Korea Investment EastBridge Global Green Energy No.1 Private Equity Fund, which closed in December 2022 with ₩778.0 billion (about $580–600 million). The firm’s sector focus on advanced materials and clean energy encompasses battery manufacturing, energy storage, and related solutions. A notable investment is its minority stake in SK On, acquired via a private equity consortium to support the EV battery maker’s global expansion. This deal, valued at up to ₩2 trillion, underscores EastBridge’s support for cleantech innovations and Asia’s energy transition.
