Investor Overview

Sente Ventures is a venture capital firm founded in 2008 with headquarters in Chicago and an office in Osaka, Japan. Over the past decade, Sente has backed more than 50 startups across 24 countries, offering growth-stage funding between $100,000 and $1 million. The firm supports technology-led companies that aim to improve food, agriculture, water and essential services, as well as industrial processes. By combining deep technical expertise with a global network of investors and family offices, Sente helps entrepreneurs bring practical solutions to market and scale operations internationally.

Sente Ventures works alongside family offices and corporate partners to direct capital toward businesses tackling human essentials and circular industry models. The firm seeks startups that use technology to reduce emissions, enhance resource efficiency and create sustainable business models. Sente facilitates clear communication between founders, private investors and operating companies, offering not only capital but hands-on guidance to accelerate growth. This model lets the firm act as a lead backer and manage risk, often stepping in to support Series A and B rounds.

Since 2023, Sente has expanded its clean energy and battery technology portfolio. A major milestone arrived in January 2025 with a five-year, $25 billion program in partnership with DeepGreenX, targeting companies in battery storage, virtual grid systems, microreactor power and data center infrastructure. Sente also participated in a $300 million Series B for Our Next Energy, a startup developing lithium iron phosphate batteries and gigafactory partnerships. Other investments include waste-to-fertilizer conversion, controlled environment agriculture and alternative materials, all supporting zero-emission goals.
