LG Energy Solution has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Silicon Valley-based Bear Robotics, establishing itself as the exclusive supplier of cylindrical battery cells for the company’s service and logistics robots. Beginning next year, LG Energy Solution will provide its 2170 cylindrical batteries to power Bear Robotics’ flagship models, including the Servi Plus and Carti 100.
The agreement extends beyond battery supply; both companies have committed to collaborate on technological innovations to strengthen their positions in the rapidly growing global robotics market. This partnership highlights LG Energy Solution’s dedication to expanding into new business areas and solidifies its reputation for delivering safe, high-quality battery solutions.
Bear Robotics, founded in 2017 by CEO John Ha, is a leading AI-powered robotics firm known for pioneering autonomous serving robots. Operating in over 20 countries, the company continues to transform automation across public and industrial sectors.
Safety is a paramount concern for service and logistics robots operating in high-traffic public spaces. LG Energy Solution’s partnership with Bear Robotics underscores its commitment to product safety, utilizing advanced materials and technologies such as high-quality NCMA cathode materials and reinforced ceramic-coated separators to ensure the utmost reliability and performance of its batteries.
Looking ahead, LG Energy Solution plans to actively explore innovative opportunities in the global robotics market and other sectors beyond electric vehicles. Aligned with its corporate vision announced in October, “Empower Every Possibility,” the company aims to diversify its business portfolio by expanding into high-growth potential areas like Urban Air Mobility (UAM), vessels, and advanced robotics.
