ProLogium Technology, a leader in solid-state battery research, has opened the world’s first Giga-scale solid-state lithium ceramic battery facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan, marking a key milestone in the battery industry. The event was attended by key strategic partners like Mercedes-Benz, POSCO, FEV, Arkema, as well as banks from Taiwan and France.
In an historic milestone for the battery and energy sectors, ProLogium Technology inaugurated the world’s first solid-state lithium ceramic battery factory capable of Giga-scale production. The event was attended by notable guests, including government officials from Taiwan and France and representatives from key strategic partners like Mercedes-Benz, POSCO, FEV, Arkema, and banks from Taiwan and France.
Based on current market demand, this facility is expected to initially supply power to around 26,000 electric vehicles. This not only demonstrates the commercial viability of next-generation battery architectures, but it also paves the door for increased global adoption and feasibility of electric vehicles.
The opening of this factory also represents significant economic potential for the surrounding community. ProLogium’s relocation, which has the potential to create around 1,200 jobs, demonstrates the ability of breakthrough technology to generate employment possibilities and widen economic horizons.
Furthermore, the plant represents an important turning point in battery manufacturing productivity, with an output 2.6 times greater than ProLogium’s previous facilities. This is directly related to the promise of decreased production costs, bringing solid-state batteries closer to commercial viability.
France recognized ProLogium’s disruptive energy solutions and included the firm in its “France 2030” strategy. This collaboration underscores the increasing global emphasis on energy-efficient transportation solutions.
