Zeekr, a global electric mobility brand, has announced a significant development in electric vehicle (EV) technology. The company’s newly developed Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) prismatic EV batteries support 5.5C ultra-fast charging, enabling vehicles to charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes.
The 2025 Zeekr 007 sedan will feature these batteries for the first time, with deliveries beginning next week. This technological advancement aims to address range anxiety, a common concern among EV users.
The new charging speed benchmark was achieved using Zeekr’s ultra-fast V3 charging infrastructure. The company’s e-powertrain research and development team has improved materials and technology to exceed the charging speeds of current nickel-cobalt-manganese batteries.
Zeekr’s enhanced battery management system (BMS) maintains consistent and efficient charging in a wide range of environmental conditions. At temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius, vehicles can be charged from 10% to 80% within 30 minutes.
To support this technology, Zeekr has deployed more than 500 ultra-fast charging stations across China, with more than 2,700 charging stacks capable of 800V charging. The company intends to expand this network to 1,000 stations in 2024 and plans to operate over 10,000 ultra-fast charging stacks by 2026.
In addition to battery advancements, Zeekr has introduced its Urban Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP) assisted driving features. This system provides intelligent driving assistance on urban roads with navigation capabilities. Vehicles equipped with Urban NZP are scheduled for delivery beginning in late August.
Zeekr continues to advance EV technology by integrating rapid charging capabilities with enhanced driver assistance systems to improve the user experience and address key challenges in electric mobility.
