Swedish sodium-ion battery developer Altris has successfully completed a Series B1 funding round, securing SEK 150 million (approximately €13.2 million). The investment will enable the company to finalize its pilot production facility, paving the way for commercial production of its innovative sodium-ion cathode materials.
Strategic investors Clarios and Maersk Growth have joined Altris, highlighting the transformative potential of its technology. This development marks a significant step forward for Europe’s energy transition and competitiveness by enhancing local battery production and strengthening the regional supply chain.
Altris’s solutions are free from conflict minerals and rely on abundant European resources. The company is poised to play a crucial role in reducing dependence on external battery sources, contributing to a self-sufficient and sustainable energy future for Europe.
