EVE Energy, Wuhan University (WHU), and the University of Debrecen (UD) in Hungary signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Wuhan. This agreement marks the official start of collaborative research on the impact of the lithium battery industry on the sustainable development of Debrecen, opening a new chapter in international cooperation.

Integrating Industry, Academia, and Research for Development

The collaboration encompasses areas such as research on social sustainable development impacts, scientific and technological innovation, and community activities. The goal is to enhance the international influence of all three parties in sustainable development through joint efforts and multifaceted integration.

Yuan Yufeng, Vice President of WHU, and Károly Pető, Vice President of UD, delivered speeches highlighting the significance of this partnership and expressing optimism for future developments.

EVE Energy has previously established extensive cooperative relationships with WHU in new materials and advanced technologies and has engaged in in-depth dialogues with UD during the initial stages of constructing its factory in Hungary. With a robust R&D platform and a strong international research team, EVE Energy continues advancing core lithium battery technologies and has applied for over 9,200 domestic and international patents. The company has been approved to establish a “Post-Doctoral Programme,” “the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Key Technologies and Materials of Lithium Batteries,” and “the National Certified Enterprise Technology Center,” among others.

EVE Energy will actively provide internships and practical support for students and researchers from both universities, aiding them in completing their research and development plans. By the third quarter of 2027, practice bases are expected to be established in Debrecen, Hungary, and Jingmen, Hubei, China, to deepen industry-academia-research collaboration further and jointly cultivate high-quality professionals. The three parties will also apply for joint scientific research projects and regularly hold technical exchange meetings to promote the rapid transformation of scientific research outcomes into industrial applications.

Coordinating Domestically and Internationally for a Sustainable Future

Dr. Liu Jincheng, Chairman of EVE Energy, stated, “EVE Energy, after 23 years of rapid development, has become a globally competitive lithium battery platform company. Our cooperation with WHU and UD will not only promote technological innovation in the lithium battery industry but also make a greater contribution to the green energy transition in Hungary and the world.”

EVE Energy is a leading lithium battery platform company offering core technologies and comprehensive solutions for consumer, power, and energy storage batteries. As a supplier to the BMW Group, the company is constructing an advanced battery factory in Debrecen’s northwest industrial zone, covering an area of approximately 450,000 square meters. The project is expected to be completed and operational in 2027, creating around 1,000 local jobs.

This collaboration is a key aspect of EVE Energy’s globalization strategy and exemplifies Chinese enterprises’ commitment to promoting global sustainable development.

Through the combined efforts and expertise of EVE Energy, Wuhan University, and the University of Debrecen, this partnership is set to inject new vitality into the sustainable development of the global lithium battery industry, contribute to the global energy transition, and create a better, greener future.
