Role Overview
As an Engineer at Redwood Materials, you will work across various disciplines—including chemical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering—to invent processes and design, build, and install industrial-scale equipment. Your contributions will support the company’s mission to develop a circular battery supply chain and scale innovative recycling and materials manufacturing solutions. This role is central to tackling industrial-scale challenges that enable the transition to sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement industrial-scale equipment and processes for battery recycling and material production.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to innovate and improve manufacturing technologies.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide engineering solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Contribute to the expansion and scaling of processes within new and existing facilities, including the new R&D center in San Francisco.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Software) or a related technical field.
- Relevant experience in designing, building, or supporting industrial-scale equipment or manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications/Additional Skills
- Experience in the renewable energy, battery manufacturing, or recycling sectors.
- Advanced degrees or certifications related to engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present technical concepts clearly.
