Role Overview
The Production/Manufacturing Manager will lead the production department at Skeleton Technologies’ Markranstädt site. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production output, high product quality, and on-time delivery, while managing budget, costs, and team development. The manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, oversee production planning and maintenance teams, and foster alignment with company goals to support the mission of building a net zero future.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and competencies for successful production execution.
- Manage production output, product quality, and timely delivery to internal and external customers.
- Oversee cost center management, budget, and headcount planning aligned with company objectives.
- Achieve production revenue targets while meeting cost of goods sold (COGS) goals.
- Continuously optimize production efficiency, organizational flow, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Supervise production management, including section leads, production planning, and maintenance teams.
- Increase production asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards.
- Implement LEAN standards, allocate resources effectively, and ensure full utilization of assets.
- Monitor team performance and implement development plans and measures.
- Align production strategies with company initiatives and provide clear direction and focus.
- Foster positive, trusting relationships with workgroups; recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
- Promote strong cross-functional cooperation and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Lead projects beyond regular scope when necessary, while promoting a customer-focused and safety-first culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production or manufacturing management, preferably in a 3-shift operation environment.
- Professional background in electronics, automotive industry, or automated high-volume production lines.
- Experience with LEAN management principles is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills; proficiency in German is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on mentality and ability to independently translate ideas into clear instructions.
- Strong communication skills with a low-hierarchy management style and team-oriented approach.
