Role Overview
As the QMS Quality Manager at the Agratas Somerset site, you will lead and manage the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with quality standards and integrate health, safety, and environmental systems. Reporting to the Head of Plant Quality, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining high-quality processes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality and safety across site operations in collaboration with the central IMS team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring adherence to third-party accreditation standards.
- Lead quality functions to ensure consistency, sustainability, and standardization of quality processes and systems.
- Take strategic responsibility for quality development in partnership with customers.
- Develop, implement, and monitor suitable Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Engage employees to promote understanding of their quality and safety responsibilities and embed a culture of quality throughout the business.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on business process mapping (SIPOC).
- Initiate containment and corrective actions for non-conformities and customer complaints; investigate failures, identify root causes, and assume technical accountability.
- Apply quality and continuous improvement tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, and Lean 6S to address operational and quality issues.
- Conduct periodic internal audits in accordance with IATF 16949 standards and report on quality and safety performance.
Required Qualifications
- Lead Auditor certification in IATF 16949.
- Experience conducting internal audits, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 auditor experience considered a plus.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to manage issues under tight deadlines and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Strong communication skills, including effective writing and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience working in manufacturing or chemical manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental system integration.
