Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within Skeleton Technologies’ Product Management department, you will play a key role in the Mechanical Engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be designing mechanical solutions for energy storage systems, contributing to electrical system design competence, and supporting product and technology roadmap development. You will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate on research projects, ensuring customer requirements and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Create mechanical designs that comply with standards and customer requirements.
- Participate in risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with component suppliers to ensure designs meet target costs.
- Validate that engineering solutions satisfy customer expectations.
- Review and approve designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on customer projects.
- Support technology and product roadmap development initiatives.
- Engage in research projects to advance product development.
- Mentor and support junior team members’ growth.
- Contribute to the improvement of mechanical development processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in mechanical engineering.
- Experience designing electrical systems from a mechanical engineering perspective.
- Knowledge of electrical storage systems, electrical engineering, power systems, or electric grid solutions.
- Experience leading workgroups or managing technical architectures.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks with hands-on prototyping skills.
- Familiarity with development processes and quality tools such as DFMEA and Significant Characteristics.
- Strong technical writing and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
