KORE Power, Inc. stands as a leading U.S. developer and manufacturer of battery cell technology, serving the clean energy sector. Founded in 2018 by Lindsay Gorrill and Paul Coombs, the company has established itself as the first fully integrated American-owned provider of battery cells and energy storage solutions. Operating from facilities in Vermont and Arizona, KORE Power delivers innovative battery technologies for energy storage, e-mobility, utility, industrial, and defense applications. The company’s commitment to domestic production strengthens the U.S. energy supply chain while advancing sustainable power solutions.
Battery Technology
KORE Power specializes in producing both Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells. Their product portfolio includes the 750 LFP DC Block and 1340 NMC DC Block, designed for utility-scale and commercial energy storage applications. These systems integrate advanced battery management technology to ensure optimal performance and safety.
The company’s flagship manufacturing facility, KOREPlex, located in Buckeye, Arizona, represents a significant advancement in domestic battery production. This two-million-square-foot facility will begin commercial operations in 2025 with an initial annual production capacity of 6 GWh, expandable to 12 GWh. The plant will manufacture both NMC and LFP cells, supporting various applications from electric vehicles to grid-scale storage systems.
KORE Power’s technology meets stringent safety standards, including UL 9540A and NFPA certifications. Through their acquisition of Northern Reliability, they offer complete system integration services, providing end-to-end solutions from cell production to installation and maintenance.
Recent Projects
In recent developments, KORE Power secured a substantial offtake agreement with Energy Vault, committing to deliver domestically produced batteries starting in 2025. The agreement begins with 1.3 GWh in 2025 and increases to 7 GWh by 2027. The company also introduced two new U.S.-manufactured DC Block products for the energy storage sector, enhancing their product line for efficient grid connection solutions.
