Microvast Holdings, Inc., a leading innovator of lithium-ion battery solutions, unveiled a new line of advanced battery technologies at IAA Transportation 2024. The company’s latest offerings aim to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles by providing improved energy density, safety, and sustainability.
The new lineup includes HnSO cells, which are silicon-based cells that offer an energy density of 300 Wh/kg, long cycle life of more than 4,000 cycles, and reduced total cost of ownership. These cells are designed for long-range battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). In addition, Microvast introduced Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) cells optimized for high-power applications in harsh environments. These cells offer enhanced safety and a long cycle life of up to 20,000 cycles with an energy density of 100 Wh/kg.
The company also introduced its third generation MV-I Pack, a turnkey solution with up to 200 Wh/kg energy density and over 5,000 full cycles. This pack incorporates Microvast’s 5th Generation Battery Management System (BMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 ASIL-C and advanced cybersecurity standards.
