NEO Battery Materials Ltd., a developer of low-cost silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, has announced a collaboration with Rockwell Automation Inc. (“Rockwell”) (NYSE: ROK), a leading industrial automation and digital transformation company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The partnership aims to integrate Rockwell’s advanced automation solutions into NEO’s upcoming silicon anode manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario. By implementing these automation and digitalization technologies, NEO expects to enhance production efficiency, improve quality control, and increase scalability. This collaboration is intended to prepare NEO’s operations for large-scale commercial production, enabling the company to optimize resource utilization and establish a cost-effective manufacturing process.

Rockwell’s digital tools will facilitate real-time monitoring and provide data-driven insights, which are expected to improve decision-making processes and reduce lead times within NEO’s workflows. As NEO moves forward with the commercialization of its Windsor facility, the company also plans to expand its operations into the United States, targeting silicon anode manufacturing and value-added projects. Future expansions may include additional facilities in Ohio, with Rockwell Automation set to assist in the launch of these sites.

Spencer Huh, President and CEO of NEO Battery Materials, commented, “Teaming up with Rockwell Automation was a strategic step to help us scale our battery materials commercialization and production. The value proposition provided by utilizing solutions from Rockwell will help grow and streamline production, delivering the highest quality products to our customers.”
