ProLogium Technology has reached significant milestones in the development of its electric vehicle battery gigafactory in Dunkirk, France. The company recently secured both the building permit and the environmental authorization (Dossier de Demande d’Autorisation Environnementale, DDAE), crucial approvals that clear the way for the project’s construction phase.

These achievements result from the collaborative efforts of ProLogium’s teams in Taiwan and France since the project’s announcement in May 2023. The applications for the building permit and the DDAE were submitted in May 2024, followed by a public consultation in October. ProLogium expresses gratitude to the prefecture services and its supporters at both local and national levels for their assistance in successfully navigating the authorization process.

The Dunkirk gigafactory is planned to be developed in three stages: construction starting in 2025, production beginning in 2027, and full capacity ramp-up contingent on market conditions. The company is currently in the process of selecting construction partners, and further updates on the project’s progress will be provided in future communications.

That same year, the company announced the opening of its first overseas research and development center in Paris-Saclay, France, dedicated to developing solutions tailored to the European market. The Dunkirk gigafactory represents ProLogium’s first overseas large-scale production facility, marking a significant expansion of its global operations.

Construction of the Dunkirk facility is expected to begin in 2025, with mass production set for 2027. The successful completion of the public consultation process required for obtaining construction and environmental assessment permits indicates strong support from regulatory authorities and the community.
