Safion’s core technology centers on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) combined with sophisticated assessment algorithms. Their systems support all types of lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, enabling accurate analysis of cell performance and internal processes.
Safion’s product portfolio includes the ExaMight series for automated battery cell sorting and quality assurance (evaluating up to 32 impedance points simultaneously) and the Inspectrum series for high-speed EIS measurements with real-time monitoring during charging and discharging. Software products include Inspectrum.Suite and ExaMight.Cockpit for automated test sequences and data evaluation.
In 2023, Safion established a strategic partnership with Digatron Power Electronics GmbH to integrate diagnostic tools with Digatron’s battery cyclers and expand global distribution. The company also moved into larger facilities in Aachen to accommodate growing demand.
In 2022, Rolf Beckers, founder and owner of Digatron Power Electronics GmbH, invested a multi-million dollar sum in Safion, strengthening the strategic partnership and supporting the company’s expansion.
