SERMATEC has announced the successful deployment of a 5.1MW/17.8MWh commercial and industrial energy storage system in Bulgaria. This project aims to optimize the local energy landscape by efficiently managing excess solar power generation.

Prior to the system’s implementation, the client’s photovoltaic plant faced substantial losses due to inadequate storage capabilities, resulting in wasted electricity during the day and necessitating nighttime grid power purchases. SERMATEC’s solution not only prevents negative pricing associated with excess generation but also enables active participation in electricity market trading. With an annual storage capacity of over 6.5 million kWh, this project marks a substantial step forward in sustainable energy management.

Key Highlights:

  • Innovative Technology: The project utilizes 48 units of SERMATEC’s EasyCube Series 372 kWh Energy Storage Systems, characterized by enhanced spatial efficiency and operational flexibility.
  • Advanced Components: Powered by 3.2V 280Ah LFP batteries, the system boasts a conversion efficiency of up to 99% and a design life exceeding 15 years, ensuring safety, reliability, and engineering excellence.
  • Integrated Energy Management: SERMATEC’s self-developed EMS system optimizes PV power generation for self-consumption of solar and energy storage, managing peak and off-peak energy usage through a cloud-based platform.
  • Battery Management: The independently developed BMS system ensures the safety and extended service life of energy storage batteries, facilitating efficient energy use.

Quote from SERMATEC: “At SERMATEC, we’re committed to building a sustainable energy future. This project in Bulgaria is a testament to our vision, and we invite stakeholders to join us in making this a reality.”
