Sunwoda Energy has entered into a partnership with Gryphon Energy to develop a substantial 1.6 GWh energy storage project in Queensland. The agreement was formalized during the All-Energy Australia 2024 gathering, with Rob Mailler, Director of Gryphon Energy, and Terry Yuan, General Manager of Global Business at Sunwoda Energy, in attendance.
This ambitious project is scheduled for delivery, grid connection, and operation by 2026. It is expected to be one of Australia’s largest energy storage initiatives. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance the stability, reliability, and adaptability of both Queensland’s and the nation’s power grids.
To address the project’s complex management and high demands for grid support and operational services, Sunwoda Energy will deploy its latest NoahX 5 MWh liquid cooling energy storage system. This system features the company’s self-developed 314Ah cells and leverages innovative Reverse DC Coupling technology, ensuring tailored energy storage solutions for high-quality project delivery.
Sunwoda Energy is a global leader in integrated energy storage solutions with a strong focus on the Australian market. Following the successful grid connection of a 5 MW / 11 MWh project in New South Wales in August, recognized for enhancing photovoltaic generation flexibility, this new partnership underscores the company’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and innovative energy storage solutions for Australian customers.
