JMEV and Farasis Energy entered a strategic cooperation agreement to develop solid-state batteries. This partnership marks the production launch of the SPS (Super Pouch Solution) battery, explicitly designed for JMEV’s ‘ELIGHT’ model.

Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate to advance solid-state battery research, production, and market application. Their focus includes accelerating key technology development, facilitating industrial transformation, and enhancing the commercialization of solid-state battery technology.

Solid-state batteries provide a competitive edge in new energy vehicle technology, featuring high energy density, rapid charging, extended cycle life, and enhanced safety. With extensive expertise in electrochemical systems and pouch battery stacking, Farasis Energy is poised to advance solid-state battery development. The company’s product strategy emphasizes medium- to long-term R&D goals, aiming to create high-energy, high-rate, high-safety, and cost-effective batteries to apply research breakthroughs quickly.

Farasis Energy’s first-generation semi-solid batteries are mass-produced for passenger vehicles and have made notable progress in the commercial vehicle sector. The company has partnered with FAW Jiefang to advance the market and industrial chain development of semi-solid and solid-state batteries for commercial vehicles. Farasis Energy will transition from semi-solid to solid-state battery commercialization within five years.

On the same day, Farasis Energy launched its first SPS battery system for the “ELIGHT” model, following earlier supplies to the Geely Radar Horizon and GAC Second-Gen Aion V. This new SPS battery aims to elevate JMEV’s pure electric platform, setting the stage for an innovative sports sedan that enhances the travel experience.

Key Features of the Farasis SPS Battery:

  • Rapid Charging: 10-minute charge for a 400-kilometer range
  • Versatile Compatibility: Suitable for chassis heights ranging from 85mm to 145mm
  • Optimized Efficiency: High volume utilization rate of up to 75%
  • Chemical Compatibility: Supports sodium ion, lithium iron phosphate, and semi-solid battery systems
