TerraFlow Energy and NovaSpark Energy have announced a strategic partnership to provide flow battery solutions for the U.S. defense sector. The collaboration aims at delivering advanced energy storage systems to the U.S. Armed Forces, state and local governments, and other critical infrastructure sectors.

Under the terms of the agreement, NovaSpark Energy will act as a distributor for TerraFlow’s flow battery energy storage systems, facilitating sales to the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and other government agencies. This partnership is expected to modernize military bases, enhance energy resilience, and provide reliable off-grid power solutions.

Jon Parrella, Founder and CEO of TerraFlow Energy, stated, “This partnership represents a significant advancement for TerraFlow as we enter the defense and government sectors. By leveraging NovaSpark’s expertise and established relationships within the Department of Defense, we can accelerate the deployment of our flow battery technology to support critical energy infrastructure.”

NovaSpark Energy plans to incorporate TerraFlow’s battery systems into its portfolio of advanced energy technologies. The agreement includes a structured approach to market entry, comprising targeted outreach, dedicated sales resources, and demonstration projects to validate the technology for large-scale implementation.

Rick Harlow, CEO of NovaSpark Energy, commented, “Energy resilience is a top priority for the U.S. military, and flow battery storage plays a crucial role in achieving this objective. Through our partnership with TerraFlow, we can offer a leading storage solution that enhances both operational security and sustainability for our defense partners.”

The collaboration will explore demonstration projects showcasing flow battery storage capabilities in military and government applications. Additionally, both companies will work together to refine distribution strategies and optimize supply chain logistics to ensure efficient deployment of their systems.

This partnership underscores the demand for long-duration energy storage solutions as government and military installations seek reliable, non-lithium alternatives to improve energy resilience. TerraFlow’s proprietary flow battery technology offers a cost-effective option for long-term energy storage, providing the durability needed for mission-critical environments.

The agreement is effective immediately, with both TerraFlow Energy and NovaSpark Energy actively engaging with key stakeholders to identify initial deployment opportunities.
