Arbin designs and manufactures battery testing instruments supporting the entire battery lifecycle across various chemistries and formats (cells, modules, packs). Key product lines include the Laboratory Battery Tester (LBT) series for research and quality control, and the RBT series for high-power testing suitable for EVs and grid storage. Innovations include the first multi-channel potentiostatic/galvanostatic device, proprietary dynamic high-precision impedance measurement integrating AI, multi-zone thermal chambers, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy modules, and the MITS testing software offering comprehensive test control and data management.
Product offerings include the Laboratory Battery Tester (LBT) series with high-resolution data acquisition and ultra-fast logging, and the RBT series for high-power battery and pack testing with regenerative power capabilities. Additional products include multi-zone thermal chambers and software modules for EIS and advanced battery test control and data analysis through MITS software.
In 2023, Arbin partnered with Honeywell to integrate autonomous battery formation systems into Honeywell’s Battery Manufacturing Excellence Platform to improve lithium-ion gigafactory production quality and yield. Looking to 2025, Arbin was selected by Ambri to supply high-current battery test systems for pilot production of Liquid Metal batteries for long-duration stationary storage. The company also expanded its European presence providing enhanced hardware, data management, and local support.
Dr. John Zhang remains the primary owner of the company and serves as its executive leader.
