In early 2026, Altris marked a series of milestones that underline its move from technology development to industrial execution in Europe’s sodium-ion battery sector. The company secured a strategic in-kind investment and partnership with Czech specialty chemicals group Draslovka, deepened its collaboration with long-standing investor Clarios, and earned a place on the Global Cleantech 100 list. Together, these developments reinforce Altris’ path toward commercial-scale production of sodium-ion cathode active material (CAM).

Under the agreement with Draslovka, the company will invest €19.3 million in kind and convert an existing production line at its Kolín facility to manufacture Altris’ patented CAM. Once operational, this line is expected to produce up to 350 tonnes of CAM per year—equivalent to approximately 175 MWh of cell capacity—with ramp-up scheduled for late 2026. By leveraging established infrastructure, process know-how and existing licenses, Altris aims to industrialize rapidly and anchor supply chains in Europe.

Building on its relationship with Clarios, Altris has entered an expanded joint development agreement focused on sodium-ion applications for the automotive industry. The collaboration includes increased equity investment, co-development and validation activities, and groundwork for pilot-scale production. With Slovak manufacturer InoBat, the partners are advancing prototype cell assembly and testing within a European manufacturing and R&D framework.

In addition to these partnerships, Altris’ inclusion on the Global Cleantech 100 highlights the company’s combination of technological innovation and a clear route to industrial impact. Industry observers note that these strategic investments and endorsements position sodium-ion chemistry as a complementary battery solution—especially for applications requiring cost-effective, geographically diversified supply chains.

Collectively, these achievements signify a disciplined progression from laboratory research to factory-floor readiness. Supported by committed industrial partners and strategic investors, Altris is laying the groundwork for a more resilient European battery ecosystem aligned with net-zero and energy-transition goals.
