Lead Intelligent Equipment has secured a gigawatt-scale order for its in-house screen printing machines from a leading global photovoltaic manufacturer. The contract covers a complete production line—including automatic loaders, screen printers, buffer systems and turnover machines—designed to support bipolar cell output at scale. The core screen printer accommodates half-cell formats from 182 mm to 210 mm, aligning with the client’s requirements for high-volume bifacial module manufacturing.
To address the precision and throughput needs of large-format bipolar cells, the new screen printer delivers three key advantages:
- High Capacity: The system achieves a cycle time below 0.7 seconds while maintaining tight printing tolerances. Each line can process up to 20,500 half-cells per hour, enabling GW-scale production efficiency.
- High Intelligence: Built on a modular platform, the equipment integrates unmanned optical inspection, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for material handling, automated slurry filling, cell AOI/PL inspection and mesh anomaly monitoring. The line supports multiple communication protocols for controller interoperability, and production data are uploaded in real time to the customer’s MES for full traceability.
- High Yield: A fully automated closed-loop control system keeps the breakage rate below 0.03%. Intelligent inspection routines minimize manual intervention, reduce labor costs and consistently deliver industry-leading yield performance.
A senior representative of the client commented:
“The tailored solution provided by LEAD not only fully meets our production needs and technical requirements, but the team’s responsive service has also left a lasting impression. This collaboration highlights LEAD’s industry-leading technological expertise and lays a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.”
Bipolar cells are emerging as a preferred photovoltaic technology due to their high efficiency, low degradation rates and absence of shading loss. LEAD has developed turnkey lines for bipolar cells and modules, earning global recognition through multiple deliveries of individual machines and complete lines. Its self-developed XBC stringer has surpassed 30 GW in shipments, securing repeat orders by solving warping issues, cutting welding energy consumption by over 50% and ensuring precise ribbon placement to prevent short circuits.
This gigawatt-scale order underscores LEAD’s leadership in photovoltaic equipment and its role in driving the clean energy transition. Going forward, the company plans to expand its offerings in bipolar cells, TOPCon, heterojunction and perovskite technologies, leveraging intelligent manufacturing to improve efficiency, lower costs and support sustainable growth.
