Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies unit supplies specialized materials for EV batteries and energy storage, including adhesives, sealants, coatings, thermal interface materials for heat dissipation, fire-retardant materials, and structural adhesives and sealants that enhance durability, reduce weight, and support battery assembly, disassembly, and recycling.
Henkel offers a range of battery materials such as thermal interface materials (TIMs), fire-retardant coatings, structural adhesives, sealants, and advanced electrode coating technologies designed to improve safety, efficiency, sustainability, and manufacturability of battery cells, modules, and packs.
In June 2025, Henkel introduced AI-powered simulation tools and digital twins to accelerate battery design and materials selection; launched new safety coatings and structural adhesives for easier battery component disassembly; deployed enhanced electrode coating technologies for faster, more sustainable production; and expanded application engineering and manufacturing capabilities in India with smart factory technologies.
The Henkel family, through a pooling agreement, holds the majority of voting rights. The company holds treasury stock. The remaining shares are held by institutional investors worldwide.
