Ionic MT’s core technology is Ionisil™, a high-purity nano-silicon anode powder derived from halloysite clay, capable of delivering up to 3200 mAh/g and when blended at 15% with graphite can double anode capacity, enable ultra-fast charging and increased energy density. Their proprietary manufacturing process also yields >99% pure boehmite alumina as a co-product for ceramic separator coatings, improving battery safety, thermal stability, and mechanical performance.
In 2024, Ionic MT acquired full ownership of a 500+ acre halloysite property, secured a 4000 acre lease, expanded its Provo facility to 7000 tons per year, formalized a 1000 ton per year off-take agreement with C4V, acquired key battery manufacturing equipment, initiated advanced full-cell prototyping, and appointed Sunho Kang, Ph.D., as CTO. In 2025, a White House Executive Order prioritized domestic production of nano-silicon and boehmite alumina, aligning Ionic MT with federal objectives and making it eligible for non-dilutive support via DPA, DOE, and DFC programs.
