Company Overview

Rimac Energy, a division of Rimac Technology, develops high-performance stationary energy storage solutions. Founded by Mate Rimac and headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia, the European-engineered venture leverages its parent’s electric vehicle expertise to deliver efficient, reliable battery systems and transform the energy storage sector.

Battery Technology

Rimac Energy’s SineStack system uses advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and a distributed inverter (“AC battery”) architecture for precise control, redundancy, and 50% lower energy losses than existing solutions. Integrated power conversion, liquid thermal management, and state-of-health monitoring algorithms ensure near-silent operation, optimal space utilization, and consistent capacity. An in-house EMS platform offers automated operations and advanced analytics. Production is planned at the Rimac Campus in Croatia, with pilot systems tested and full-scale manufacturing targeted for 2025 at over 10 GWh annual capacity.

Products

The flagship SineStack BESS delivers 92% round-trip efficiency, a 12 000-cycle lifetime, distributed inverter modules, liquid thermal management for near-silent operation, and integrated EMS for performance and health monitoring.

Recent Projects

In 2024, SineStack was deployed in Colchester, United Kingdom, with a zero capacity fade guarantee for two years from 2025. Partnerships include BMW Group for high-voltage EV battery solutions and ENNA for strategic energy storage projects in Croatia.

Investors

Rimac Energy is supported by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Porsche, and InvestIndustrial. Mate Rimac is the largest shareholder, with Hyundai Motor Group as a strategic investor.
