Sakuu’s core technology is the Kavian platform, a dry, multi-material, multi-layer additive manufacturing system for commercial-scale battery production without solvents. Their Cypress battery cell chemistry achieves energy densities of 750–950 Wh/l and specific energies above 260 Wh/kg, with 8C peak power, 10C pulse capabilities, 3C continuous discharge, and 1000 cycles from 100% depth of discharge to 80% state of health. The dry process reduces material waste and eliminates toxic components. Their portfolio includes the first fully functional printed lithium-metal battery and the first printed and patterned lithium-metal anode.
The Kavian platform for producing custom-shaped batteries with enhanced thermal management; Cypress lithium-metal battery cells with high energy density and power output; fully functional printed lithium-metal batteries; printed and patterned lithium-metal anodes.
In 2025, Sakuu commercially launched the Kavian platform, achieving a 55% reduction in CO2 emissions during electrode production. They partnered with ELEQTRION on aluminum-ion battery development and SK On on EV battery manufacturing. Sakuu was named FII Innovator 2024 and included in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2024.
Sakuu has raised $115M from Candou Ventures, Teramips Technologies, CSVE Ventures, Plug and Play, and MissionBlue Capital Partners. They have strategic partnerships with Honeywell and Relevant Industries and plan to go public via a merger with Plum Acquisition Corp. I.
