Zoolnasm’s core innovation is its sodium iron sulfate (NFS) battery technology, the world’s first industrialized system. It employs three proprietary cathode preparation methods across 130+ patents and a green manufacturing process (solid-state premixing + low-temperature sintering) that cuts energy consumption to <70% of lithium-ion equivalents, achieves 99% material utilization, and eliminates emissions. NFS cathode production is scaled to thousand-ton levels. The NFS-50 cell supports 10C discharge, operates from –20°C to 60°C with a 13°C temperature rise, and offers up to 50% cost reduction versus lithium-ion batteries. Technology is adaptable for automotive and grid applications and is being tested in BYD’s Seagull EV.
NFS battery systems based on sodium iron sulfate, optimized for cost efficiency, long lifecycle, and extreme-temperature performance. Key product: NFS-50 battery cell with 10C discharge rate, –20°C to 60°C operating range, 13°C temperature rise, and up to 50% lower cost than lithium-ion batteries. Applications include automotive power systems, grid storage, hybrid power systems, and low-voltage vehicle batteries.
2023: Began construction of a $1.4 billion facility in Guangde, Anhui Province for 20 GWh cell and 10 GWh system capacity. 2024: Secured a four-year $28.1 million supply contract with a major international auto parts manufacturer; deliveries to two car companies commenced. Awarded the Gold Award at the 2024 BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition.
Pre-A round was led by Shenzhen Country Garden VC, with participation from Kunlun Fund, Jiangsu Huahai Financial Holding Group, Zhonghe Investment, and SND Financial Holdings. The company raised $100M in 2022 from Suzhou High-Tech VC Group and affiliates, and $60M in 2023 from Pylon Technologies.
