The project involves collaborations with BASF, Siemens, Clemson University, and Argonne National Laboratory. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025, creating 1,200 construction jobs and 300 permanent operational positions. The company also recently commissioned a first-of-kind facility for manufacturing battery-grade lithium hydroxide from Nevada claystone deposits.

ABTC’s financial backing includes significant institutional investment, with a $10 million registered direct offering announced in December 2024 and a $50 million debt financing through senior-secured convertible notes. Major shareholders include Vanguard Global Advisers LLC (2.975%), BlackRock Institutional Trust Co. NA (0.9043%), and Geode Capital Management LLC (0.7565%). The company has also received substantial government support through competitive federal grants totaling over $150 million.
