On February 12, 2026, DHL Supply Chain expanded its global network of Electric Vehicle (EV) Centers of Excellence with a new facility in Senec, Slovakia. The 26,000-square-meter warehouse is the first EV Center of Excellence in Central Europe and will support comprehensive logistics for lithium-ion batteries, EV components and the broader e-mobility ecosystem.

DHL now operates 20 EV Centers of Excellence worldwide and employs more than 200 specialists in new energy and electrification. These centers combine global expertise and local know-how to address complex EV transport, warehousing and end-of-life battery management needs.

The Senec center offers end-to-end logistics, including inbound and outbound transport, temperature- and humidity-controlled storage, battery testing, charging services and aftermarket support. Dedicated zones for general cargo and hazardous materials comply with local regulations and DHL’s internal safety standards. The site also features tailored services for two-wheeler logistics.

Key offerings include flexible short- and long-term warehousing, an advanced warehouse management system with full electronic data interchange (EDI) and cloud-based real-time inventory visibility, non-hazardous repackaging, inventory control, order fulfillment and specialized transport within DHL’s regional network.

“At DHL, we are thrilled to unveil the first EV Center of Excellence in Central Europe. This initiative demonstrates our dedication to sustainable logistics solutions for the electric vehicles sector. The center offers an extensive range of services and solutions, acting as a single destination for our customers to find all they require, while leveraging the expertise and experience of our team,” says Tibor Micuch, Business Unit Director, DHL Supply Chain Slovakia.

Aligned with DHL Group’s 2030 – New Energy strategy, the Senec EV Center of Excellence also supports circular economy initiatives, including end-of-life battery services developed in collaboration with European partners. Fathi Tlatli, Global President Auto-Mobility at DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation, noted that the center is “designed not only as a logistics hub but as a driver of innovation and collaboration across the entire EV ecosystem.”
