Farasis Energy Europe GmbH and Cling Systems AB have entered a strategic partnership to promote the reuse of electric-vehicle batteries in stationary energy storage systems. The collaboration, announced in Stockholm and Frickenhausen, aims to accelerate sales of second-life and unused lithium-ion cells and modules via Cling’s S1 circular market platform.

Under the agreement, Cling Systems will list Farasis-supplied battery components on S1, enabling manufacturers of high-end battery energy storage systems (BESS) to source OEM-grade hardware at competitive prices. The initiative seeks to diversify supply chains, lower procurement costs, and reduce carbon footprints by upcycling batteries that would otherwise remain idle.

“This is the industry’s first structured ambition to route OEM-grade batteries directly into stationary storage in order to maximize value and sustainability,” said William Bergh, Founder and CEO of Cling Systems. “Together with Farasis, we’re proving that circularity can be both sustainable and commercially attractive, starting today.”

Soeren Fink, Sales Manager at Farasis Energy Europe, and Xiaofeng (Shawn) Wu, Head of Operation at Farasis Energy Europe, underscored the environmental benefits of the partnership. “Every kilowatt-hour we upcycle into long-life storage saves raw materials and reduces CO₂ emissions,” Wu remarked. Fink added that the collaboration provides a turnkey channel for scaling these sustainability gains.

Cling’s S1 platform offers a digital infrastructure that connects vetted buyers and sellers of battery cells, modules, and packs. It automates compliance checks and transaction workflows, shortening deal cycles and ensuring quality standards. By integrating second-life and unused EV batteries into stationary storage projects, the partnership supports electrification efforts in underdeveloped markets and delivers backup power solutions for critical infrastructure.

About Cling Systems AB: Stockholm-based Cling Systems develops digital tools to turn idle batteries into active assets. Its S1 platform streamlines the secondary battery market, promoting circularity across the energy storage sector.
