Foton CP Motor (Foton Thailand) and Camel Group have formalized a nominated project agreement, under which Foton Thailand’s commercial vehicle battery supply will transition to Camel Group. The partnership introduces Camel’s battery solutions into Foton Thailand’s supply system, with large-scale production slated to begin in August 2025. Leveraging Foton’s expertise in commercial vehicle manufacturing and Camel Group’s capabilities in low-voltage automotive battery technology, the collaboration aims to advance green transportation across Southeast Asia.
Foton Thailand, serving as Foton Asia-Pacific’s regional manufacturing hub, occupies 37,000 square meters and produces a range of vehicles, including medium- and heavy-duty trucks, light-duty trucks, mini trucks, and buses. By integrating Camel Group’s batteries locally, Foton Thailand expects to strengthen supply chain localization, improve market responsiveness, and reduce logistics costs.
Camel Group, a leading provider of automotive low-voltage battery solutions in Asia, offers end-to-end capabilities spanning R&D, manufacturing, sales, and recycling of both lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Its commercial vehicle batteries are characterized by high safety standards, long cycle life, and robust environmental adaptability. With collaboration history involving over 200 automotive OEMs worldwide, Camel Group will rely on its overseas production capacity to deliver timely local support for Foton Thailand and stabilize the supply chain.
Central to this cooperation is Camel Group’s customer-centric service model. The company’s engineering and service teams will engage directly with Foton Thailand to tailor product designs and business solutions to specific operational needs. The strategic location of Camel’s international factories not only aligns with Thailand’s battery localization requirements but also enables rapid order fulfillment, ensuring consistent support for Southeast Asian customers.
Beyond strengthening Foton Thailand’s supply network, the partnership exemplifies a “Chinese technology + local service” approach, offering a scalable model for sustainable commercial mobility in the region. Both Foton Thailand and Camel Group remain committed to enhancing regional green transportation infrastructure and promoting environmental sustainability.
