On June 17, 2025, Graphite One Inc. announced that its Graphite Creek Project has become the first Alaskan mining development listed on the FAST-41 Permitting Dashboard, administered by the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council. The project is one of six critical mineral initiatives selected for inclusion under the U.S. Government’s FAST-41 program, which was created by the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act to accelerate permitting for infrastructure and natural resource projects.

Graphite One has now entered the 60-day FAST-41 process to prepare a Coordinated Project Plan and a detailed permitting timetable for the Graphite Creek mine. Emily Domenech, head of the Permitting Council, has described the program as serving “a sherpa role for businesses seeking to initiate projects,” with a focus on advancing projects to construction rapidly.

“The Administration’s use and expansion of the FAST-41 program demonstrates its commitment to move expeditiously to bolster U.S. domestic critical mineral supply chains,” said Graphite One CEO Anthony Huston. “We are proud to be the first Alaskan mining project listed on the Federal Permitting Dashboard. We believe that this emphasis on streamlining the permitting process will expedite our efforts to establish a vertically integrated domestic supply chain for graphite as the United States is faced with the growing demand and global market volatility.”

This listing follows Graphite One’s recent signing of a second non-binding supply agreement with Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) for anode active materials, marking another milestone toward a fully domestic graphite value chain. In the spring, the company published a National Instrument 43-101–compliant feasibility study—completed 15 months ahead of schedule with Defense Production Act Title III support—that tripled its proven and probable reserves. Graphite One is advancing a comprehensive U.S. supply chain solution anchored by the Graphite Creek deposit, recognized by the U.S. Geological Survey as the nation’s largest graphite resource. The company’s plan includes an advanced graphite material and battery anode manufacturing facility and a co-located recycling plant in Warren, Ohio, as part of its circular economy strategy.
