HPQ Silicon Inc. has initiated production of its HPQ ENDURA+ cylindrical lithium-ion cells, featuring Novacium’s GEN3 silicon-based anode technology. The initial manufacturing run includes 18650 cells rated at 4,000 mAh and 21700 cells rated at 6,000 mAh, with delivery to HPQ scheduled by the end of September 2025. In parallel, the company and its manufacturing partner have completed the first technical datasheets, which detail cell dimensions, brand design and performance metrics in preparation for customer and industrial partner review.

According to HPQ, the ENDURA+ cells demonstrate improved energy density and are validated to deliver close to 1,000 full charge–discharge cycles, based on independent testing conducted at Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. These performance attributes aim to support a range of high-capacity applications, including electric mobility, power tools, consumer electronics, telecommunications (civil and military) and stationary energy storage systems.

Bernard Tourillon, president and chief executive officer of HPQ Silicon, noted that formalizing the datasheets is an important step toward commercialization and that the company is proud of the progress achieved. He added that technical discussions with prospective customers and industry partners are already underway, driven by growing interest in silicon-enhanced battery technology.

The launch of HPQ ENDURA+ builds on recent strategic agreements to advance the commercialization of silicon-based materials in North America. With the global lithium-ion battery market projected to expand from US $15.92 billion in 2024 to US $45.6 billion by 2033, HPQ Silicon aims to leverage its innovations in advanced anode materials.

Technical datasheets for the ENDURA+ 18650 and 21700 cells are available upon request by contacting HPQ’s sales team at info@hpqendura.com.
