NEO Battery Materials Ltd. announced on June 5, 2025 that its high-stability P-300N silicon battery prototype achieved over 90% capacity retention after 300 cycles in a coin full-cell format, outperforming the company’s 80% retention target. P-300N uses metallurgical silicon (MG-Si), the lowest-cost silicon input for battery-grade applications, and now ranks among the most stable MG-Si–based anode materials in the global battery supply chain.

To accelerate scale-up and commercialization, NEO has appointed Dr. Jun Sik Jeoung as Senior Vice President of Commercialization and Cell Development. Jeoung brings more than 17 years of experience from Samsung SDI and leading automotive firms, including past optimization of silicon battery cells to 1,000 cycles at 80% retention. Under his leadership, the engineering team has initiated design work for single-layer pouch cells, targeting long-term performance tests of more than 500 cycles to refine interactions between P-300N, graphite anodes, and various cathode chemistries.

NEO is also preparing for near-commercial multi-layer pouch-cell evaluations, collaborating with prototypers and manufacturers in South Korea, the U.S., and Germany. Given the specialized equipment requirements, multi-layer cell manufacturing will be outsourced. Mr. Ricky Lee, a 35-year battery industry veteran and Lead Managerial Advisor, will support downstream qualification and commercialization strategy.

To meet increased sample requests from global partners, NEO has installed post-treatment equipment at its R&D Scale-Up Centre and is adding a precision manufacturing unit to expand capacity. This machinery will enhance quality control and improve MG-Si processing efficiency.

At its Annual General and Special Meeting on June 4, 2025, shareholders approved all resolutions presented in the Management Information Circular dated April 22, 2025. The meeting recorded a quorum of 10,971,844 shares, or 9.21% of outstanding voting securities. Detailed voting results are available on NEO’s website and on SEDAR+.
