Octillion Power Systems’ India division has reached a significant production milestone, manufacturing its 100,000th electric vehicle battery system on March 20, 2025. The milestone unit was assembled at the Pune Two facility for a leading domestic automotive manufacturer’s new all-electric passenger SUV. This achievement underscores the division’s rapid growth and scale across its three facilities in Pune and Gujarat.
Since establishing its first Indian operation in 2017, Octillion’s India division has expanded from a single Pune facility supplying batteries for electric buses to operating more than 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The company has also announced plans for a third major plant in Halol, Gujarat. By 2026, these facilities are expected to produce up to 8 gigawatt-hours of battery energy annually, supporting a broad range of electric vehicle segments, including passenger cars, trucks, buses, and two- and three-wheelers.
“Reaching 100,000 units made in India is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” said Paul Beach, Global President of Octillion. He noted that the milestone reflects customer trust in Octillion’s ability to deliver robust, innovative battery systems on schedule and with stringent quality control standards. Beach added that the company’s ongoing expansion in India will further strengthen its supply chain resilience and drive continued product innovation and market growth.
Nikhil Parchure, Senior Vice President at Octillion, emphasized the division’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation in India. “This milestone demonstrates our India team’s dedication to enabling cleaner mobility solutions and supporting efforts to reduce urban pollution,” he said. “We appreciate our customers’ confidence and take pride in knowing that vehicles powered by Octillion batteries showcase India’s engineering excellence.”
