🔋 Škoda to Exit China Market by Mid-2026

Škoda said it will leave the Chinese market by mid-2026 after sales fell from over 300,000 units to 15,000 amid domestic EV competition. Service support will continue through a local partner as it refocuses on India and Southeast Asia. Read more

🔋 Siemens Mobility and Akiem Sign Framework for 80 Vectron Locomotives

Siemens Mobility and Akiem agreed a framework covering 80 Vectron locomotives, with 50 Dual-Mode Electric/Battery units firmed and an option for 30 more. First deliveries are expected in 2029–2030 for leasing across Europe. Read more

🔋 GUS Technology Launches Fast-Charging XNO Battery Series

GUS Technology introduced a high-power XNO battery range targeting industrial, transport, robotics, and UPS applications. The company said the series supports 80% charge in under five minutes, 5C charging at –30 °C, and 50,000-plus cycle life. Read more

🔋 MG Motor Introduces SolidCore Semi-Solid-State Battery

MG Motor opened a Frankfurt engineering center to support European-market vehicle development alongside its UK and London teams. It also introduced its SolidCore semi-solid-state battery and Hybrid+ technology, citing range, safety, and performance benefits. Read more

🔋 CALB Starts Mass Production of Aviation-Grade Batteries for Aridge eVTOL

CALB began mass production of aviation-grade batteries for Xpeng’s Aridge X3-F eVTOL program. The company said its 360 Wh/kg cells use high-silicon and high-nickel chemistry and passed drop and safety tests aimed at meeting automotive and aviation standards. Read more

🔋 Amprius Secures $21M SiCore Cell Order for Chinese E-Mobility

Amprius Technologies received a $21 million order from a Chinese e-mobility customer for its SiCore 30 Ah cylindrical lithium-ion cells. The company said the silicon-anode cells target light EVs with doubled energy density and over 2,000 cycles. Read more

🔋 BYD Launches Song Ultra EV With 5-Minute Flash Charging

BYD launched the Song Ultra EV, a mid-size SUV priced from 151,900 yuan. It features a second-generation Blade Battery with up to 710 km range, five-minute flash charging, and a sensor suite with 27 sensors. Read more

🔋 American Battery Factory Secures Over 4.5 GWh in Offtake Agreements

American Battery Factory reported more than 4.5 GWh of offtake agreements tied to its planned Tucson, Arizona gigafactory, supporting a 5.5 GWh annual output target. The company said production is planned to start in late 2027 with full capacity in 2028, using long-life LFP cells. Read more

🔋 Samsung SDI Signs LFP Cathode Deal With L&F for US ESS

Samsung SDI signed a three-year agreement worth 1.6 trillion won with L&F for LFP cathode materials starting in 2027. The materials will support ESS production at Samsung SDI’s Indiana StarPlus Energy joint venture. Read more

🔋 Octillion India Produces 100,000th EV Battery System

Octillion Power Systems’ India unit marked its 100,000th EV battery system on March 20, 2025, at its Pune Two facility for an automaker’s electric SUV. The company said it is targeting 8 GWh of capacity by 2026 across its India footprint. Read more

🔋 Redwood Energy and Crusoe Deploy 12MW/63MWh Second-Life Battery Microgrid

Redwood Energy and Crusoe deployed a 12MW/63MWh solar-plus-storage microgrid using second-life EV batteries to power four modular data centers. The companies said the project was completed in under four months, reached 99.2% uptime, and is planned to expand to 20 additional units. Read more

🔋 Polestar Uses at Least 50% Recycled Cobalt in Polestar 2 and 3 Packs

Polestar said it is using at least 50% recycled cobalt in battery packs for the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3. The company cited refurbishing and recycling programs, partnerships, and modular design as part of its circular materials approach. Read more
