Alkegen’s core battery technology includes SiFAB (Silicon Fiber Anode) technology for lithium-ion batteries, featuring a nanoporous fiber structure that accommodates silicon expansion during charging cycles to enable higher energy density, faster charging, and extended battery life. They also offer thermal management products like FyreWrap LiB which includes specialized papers, felts, films, and coatings for thermal barriers and electrical protection, and AlkeGel aerogel for superior thermal insulation. Their advanced battery separator materials under the Inovion brand provide enhanced thermal stability and safety, optimizing battery performance across various applications.

Alkegen’s primary investor is Clearlake Capital Group, which has held majority ownership since the Unifrax-Lydall merger. In 2023, the company completed a $2.1B financing restructuring with participation from Oak Hill Advisors and other institutional investors. In 2024, Alkegen received additional capital infusions from lenders including OHA and various financial advisory firms. Alkegen also maintains controlling ownership in Luyang Energy-Savings Material Co. Ltd. in China.
