Appian Capital Advisory LLP is a London-based investment advisor focused on the metals, mining and related industries. Acting as advisor to several private capital funds – including Appian Natural Resources Funds I, II and III, as well as Credit Strategies I – the firm oversees roughly £3 billion in assets. A team of 85 investment professionals and a global network of 11 offices support deal sourcing and portfolio management across key mining jurisdictions.
Appian aims to match patient capital with operational expertise to create lasting value, regardless of commodity price cycles. The leadership group combines more than 300 years of sector experience drawn from major mining companies, private equity firms and investment banks. Since it was established, the firm has completed 29 investments, brought nine mines into production and achieved nine exits. Appian collaborates closely with management teams to improve operational performance, optimize asset development and manage risk throughout the investment lifecycle.
In support of the energy transition, Appian has deployed capital into renewable energy and battery materials. Omnigen Energy is developing 62.4 MWp of solar farms in Brazil to supply clean power to mining operations, and a majority stake in a solar park in Namibia offsets energy for a zinc mine. On the battery side, Appian provided $230 million to U.S. Strategic Metals for cobalt-nickel mining and recycling in Missouri and extended $20 million in royalty financing to Lithium Ionic for a lithium deposit in Brazil. These projects aim to secure critical materials and lower carbon emissions across the portfolio.
