Battery Technology

CTR’s core technology is its Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process powered by renewable geothermal energy. This closed-loop system extracts lithium from geothermal brines in hours, producing high-purity lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate, while reducing water usage, eliminating tailings, and avoiding overseas processing. The integration of geothermal power ensures near-zero carbon emissions.

Recent Projects

Hell’s Kitchen Lithium and Power development in the Salton Sea Geothermal Field; In 2024 received a $30 million tax credit from California for Hell’s Kitchen; In 2023 partnered with Aquatech to engineer a $1 billion Lithium Hydroxide Facility producing 25,000 tonnes annually.

Investors

In 2023, Stellantis invested over $100M in Controlled Thermal Resources Holdings Inc. for the Hell’s Kitchen project. General Motors is also a strategic investor.
