Peak Energy’s core technology is utility-scale sodium-ion battery systems that use abundant sodium as the active material. The batteries offer enhanced safety, wider operating temperature ranges, and lower production costs compared to lithium-ion. Development follows a three-phase strategy: integrating third-party cells, transitioning to in-house cell manufacturing, and developing next-generation proprietary cell designs and system architectures for maximum efficiency and longevity.

Peak Energy raised $55M in Series A funding led by Xora Innovation, with participation from Eclipse and TDK Ventures. New investors include Lachy Groom, Tishman Speyer, TechEnergy Ventures, Doral Energy-Tech Ventures, and DETV-Scania Invest.
