The company’s flagship innovation is the Safe Impact-Resistant Electrolyte (SAFIRE™), a patented drop-in additive that transforms from liquid to solid upon mechanical impact to prevent internal short circuits and thermal runaway. It integrates seamlessly into existing lithium-ion battery manufacturing lines and extends to extreme temperature environments via the xCAPS system.
SAFIRE™ drop-in electrolyte additive with liquid-to-solid impact activation; xCAPS (Extreme Climate Asset Protection System) for enhanced battery survivability in harsh conditions.
In 2024, Safire secured contracts for ruggedized electric motorcycles, rapidly deployable sensor towers, and advanced unmanned ground vehicles. It also partnered with Glatfelter Corporation to develop SAFIRE-optimized battery separators for the U.S. Air Force.
