Entroview is a technology company specializing in advanced battery diagnostics and management solutions across the entire battery lifecycle. Established in 2021 and headquartered in Saint-Martin-d’Hères, France, Entroview focuses on enhancing battery performance, safety, and longevity, primarily for electric vehicles and large-scale battery manufacturing facilities like gigafactories. The company’s approach is rooted in providing actionable data that facilitates better decision-making from battery production to end-of-life management, supporting sustainable and efficient energy solutions.

Battery Technology

Entroview’s core technology revolves around its patented entropy analysis method, which provides a thermodynamics-based approach to battery diagnostics. This method precisely measures entropy changes — representing molecular disorder within battery cells — during charge and discharge cycles in real-time. Where traditional laboratory methods for detailed entropy measurements often take 8-10 days, Entroview’s solution condenses this diagnostic process to a few hours or minutes, maintaining laboratory-grade accuracy.

The company offers real-time State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) assessment solutions, providing high accuracy (less than 1% error) without requiring battery disassembly, additional physical sensors, or historical data. This software integrates with existing battery management systems. Entroview’s technology is compatible with all battery types and sizes, including major lithium-ion chemistries like LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) and LMFP, and requires no external instrumentation, utilizing standard embedded sensors. This allows for rapid defect detection, efficient self-discharge calculations, and improved cell matching, which is critical for both manufacturing optimization and effective battery recycling processes.

Recent Projects

In the past year, Entroview has continued to establish its technology in the European market. Their solutions for accelerating end-of-line battery testing have been implemented and validated by leading European gigafactories. These deployments have demonstrated the ability to reduce testing times from several days to approximately 10 hours, helping to decrease production scrap rates by detecting manufacturing defects earlier. Additionally, Entroview’s precise SoH evaluations for used batteries are being utilized by car dismantlers and recycling companies, facilitating effective sorting, repurposing, and second-life applications, thereby enhancing the potential for extending battery lifespan in a circular economy.

Investors

Entroview has garnered significant financial support, raising over €3 million from various investors. The seed round was notably led by AFI Ventures and Rethink Ventures. Other investors include Exergon, Holnest, Kima, Wind Capital, and Linksium. The company has also received backing from business angels such as Thibaud Elzière and Florian Douetteau. Entroview’s development has been further supported by innovation incubators and clusters including Linksium, BPI, Telecom Paris Incubateur, Wilco, and MobilityXlab.
