IBC’s core technology is prismatic Li-ion NMC batteries engineered for superior performance in diverse conditions, offering higher energy density than lithium iron phosphate batteries, fast charging, safety, reliability, and 7- to 10-year warranties. Future roadmap includes Phosphate Cathode cells (2025), Silicon Anode cells (2026), Enhanced I-NMC cells (2027), and Solid-State & Sodium-Ion batteries (2029). Manufacturing uses a copy-exact model with strict quality control.
In 2024, IBC launched its first commercial prismatic cell product optimized for electric vehicles and energy storage, featuring high energy density, extended lifecycle, and fast-charging capabilities.
In 2024, IBC initiated construction of a Rs 390-crore gigafactory near Bengaluru airport, India to produce lithium-ion batteries for electric two- and three-wheelers, creating 300 initial jobs and exporting 20% to United States and European markets; the same year it introduced India’s first large-scale cell-manufacturing facility.
The company secured Pre-Series A funding led by RTP Global, with participation from Beenext, Veda VC, strategic Korean and U.S. investors, Global Energy Ventures, and GreenTech Innovations.
