Nanoramic, a leader in advanced battery technology, officially opened its new headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts, on April 16, 2025. The ribbon-cutting ceremony highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and the commercialization of its Neocarbonix® products across various industries.

The new facility, encompassing over 40,000 square feet, includes state-of-the-art laboratories, manufacturing areas, and office spaces. This expansion marks a significant step in Nanoramic’s growth, positioning the company closer to top talent and key industry partners within Massachusetts’ thriving cleantech ecosystem. The event featured attendees from the City of Woburn’s Economic Development department, Cushman & Wakefield, Cummings Properties, as well as Nanoramic’s investors and board members.

John Cooley, Nanoramic’s CEO and Founder, emphasized the importance of the new headquarters for the company’s future. “This facility is designed to empower our staff with the space and resources needed to collaborate and innovate. With commercial shipments of Neocarbonix underway, we are focused on scaling production to meet global demand,” Cooley stated. He also highlighted the company’s goals to revolutionize energy storage by providing sustainable, cost-effective, and high-performance battery solutions.

Woburn Mayor Michael P. Concannon expressed enthusiasm about Nanoramic’s presence in the city. “Their advanced work in sustainable energy aligns perfectly with our growing climate tech sector. The Woburn headquarters is equipped with multiple dry rooms to facilitate future engineering and manufacturing expansions. Nanoramic has begun commercial shipments of Neocarbonix from this location, marking a significant phase in their business development. Neocarbonix integrates seamlessly into existing battery manufacturing processes, enabling the production of PFAS-free and NMP-free lithium-ion batteries. This innovation leads to improvements in cost, energy density, power, fast charging, worker safety, manufacturing energy consumption, and supply chain security.
