Solid Power’s core technology uses proprietary sulfide-based solid electrolytes replacing liquid components, achieving energy density up to 560 Wh/kg and over 1,000 charge cycles. They develop three battery chemistries: Silicon EV Cells, Lithium Metal EV Cells and Conversion Reaction Cells. Manufacturing leverages existing lithium-ion production infrastructure, enabling scalable production and high thermal stability.
Automotive-focused battery cells: Silicon EV Cells for improved energy density and efficiency; Lithium Metal EV Cells for enhanced range and performance; Conversion Reaction Cells offering cost-effective high specific energy output.
Extended joint development agreement with Ford Motor Company through 2025; installed a production line for SK On; enhancing A-2 cell design targeting delivery by 2024; selected to negotiate a potential $50 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Investors include Ford Motor Company (6.4%), BMW AG (5.8%), BlackRock Advisors LLC (5.8%), Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Co. (4.1%), and Riverstone Investment Group LLC (2.5%). The company has a strategic partnership with SK On for R&D and electrolyte supply.
