On January 7, 2026, Cabot Corporation, a global specialty chemicals and performance materials company headquartered in Boston, announced a multi-year supply agreement with PowerCo SE, the battery manufacturing subsidiary of a leading automotive group in Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Cabot will provide advanced conductive carbons and conductive dispersions for use in lithium-ion battery electrodes.
Cabot’s conductive materials are engineered to improve electrical conductivity, enabling higher energy density, faster charging rates and extended cycle life in electric vehicle (EV) batteries. These formulations support critical performance attributes in next-generation EV cells by optimizing electronic pathways within the electrode structure and enhancing overall cell efficiency.
