Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) show that new energy vehicle (NEV) wholesale sales in China reached 1.823 million units in November 2025, setting a new monthly record. This figure surpassed the previous high of 1.715 million units recorded in October, marking a 20.6 percent year-on-year increase and a 6.3 percent rise over the prior month. CAAM’s wholesale data cover both domestic deliveries and exports and include battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and fuel cell vehicles.
BEV sales hit an all-time monthly high of 1.17 million units, representing a 28.9 percent increase from November 2024 and a 5.5 percent gain compared with October. PHEV sales reached 652,000 units, up 7.9 percent year-on-year and 7.7 percent month-on-month.
Total vehicle wholesales in November stood at 3.429 million units, a 3.4 percent year-on-year increase and a 3.2 percent climb from October. As a result, NEVs accounted for 53.2 percent of all vehicle wholesales in November, up from 45.6 percent in the same month last year and 51.6 percent in October.
Exports of NEVs continued their rapid expansion, surging 260 percent year-on-year to a record 300,000 units in November. Excluding exports, domestic NEV wholesale volumes totaled 1.522 million units, an increase of 6.5 percent compared with November 2024 and a 4.3 percent rise from October.
Overall vehicle exports from China reached 728,000 units in November, up 48.5 percent year-on-year and 9.3 percent month-on-month. BEV exports climbed to 177,000 units, a 200 percent increase from a year earlier and a 6.5 percent gain over October. PHEV exports jumped 400 percent year-on-year to 124,000 units and rose 37.3 percent compared with the previous month.
