ElevenEs, a European lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery manufacturer, has introduced its Edge574 Blade Cell, a next-generation battery designed to enhance performance, charging speed, and lifespan for electric vehicles and industrial equipment.
The Edge574 features an intelligent charging protocol that can recharge the cell from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 12 minutes at or above 25°C. In practical terms, this equates to roughly 1.1 kilometers of driving range gained per second of charging, or 66 kilometers per minute.
Charging performance remains strong at lower temperatures. At 10°C, the Edge574 achieves an 18-minute charge from 10% to 80%, delivering about 44 kilometers of range per minute at peak power of 650 kW. Even at 0°C, the cell can add 25 kilometers of range per minute with a peak charge power of 415 kW. When configured in a 210-cell pack, the system can reach up to 1 MW of peak charging power.
Durability is a core focus of the design: ElevenEs engineers targeted a cycle life equivalent to at least 500,000 kilometers of driving range. The cell’s operating temperature window spans from –30°C to 60°C, maintaining full nominal capacity up to 55°C. At –10°C, it retains about 75% of its nominal capacity.
The Edge574 Blade Cell supports both cell-to-pack (CTP) and cell-to-body (CTB) integration, improving packaging efficiency and resulting in increased energy density at system level. At the cell level, the unit achieves gravimetric and volumetric energy densities of approximately 190 Wh/kg and 420 Wh/L, respectively.
Key technological advancements include a 15% reduction in direct current internal resistance (DCIR) compared to the previous LFP generation, achieved through optimized electrode materials, an upgraded electrolyte formulation, and refined mechanical design. Enhanced housing and terminal structures support higher current delivery, while tailored safety measures address the demands of ultra-fast charging.
By combining rapid charging, extended cycle life, and flexible integration options, ElevenEs positions the Edge574 Blade Cell as a platform for more practical, sustainable electric mobility solutions across Europe.
