Nanoramic, Inc., a developer of advanced electrode materials, has received a follow-on strategic equity investment from Top Material Co., Ltd. This represents Top Material’s second participation in Nanoramic’s financing rounds and reinforces their joint effort to establish a manufacturing base in South Korea. The collaboration aims to strengthen the supply chain for Nanoramic’s Neocarbonix® battery products to meet rising demand in Asia and other regions.

Neocarbonix® is designed for seamless integration into existing battery production lines. The technology is reported to enhance cost efficiency, energy density, power output and fast-charging performance. In addition, it eliminates the need for conventional NMP solvents, improving both manufacturing sustainability and worker safety.

The equity investment follows a period of significant expansion at Nanoramic. The company recently inaugurated a 40,000-square-foot headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts, from which it has commenced commercial shipments. Earlier this year, Nanoramic closed a $44 million funding round co-led by two strategic investors, with additional backing from other industry participants. That financing milestone was positioned as the company’s transition into a global commercialization phase for its electrode platform.

By teaming up with Top Material, Nanoramic is tapping into the partner’s large-scale manufacturing expertise and established engineering infrastructure. Top Material brings capabilities in process design, equipment integration, factory automation and quality systems, along with experience in producing advanced cathode materials through eco-friendly processes.

John Cooley, Founder and CEO of Nanoramic said, “This expanded partnership with Top Material is key to our global commercialization efforts. It provides us with a crucial manufacturing footprint to better serve our customers in Asia and across the world. Top Material’s proven excellence in manufacturing creates a secure and dependable path for our partners to integrate our technology, and their continued confidence and investment are invaluable as we enter this next phase of global growth.”

Whan Jin Roh, Founder and CEO of Top Material said, “This strategic partnership with Nanoramic represents a significant milestone in establishing a reliable manufacturing base in South Korea and driving the global expansion of Neocarbonix technology. Leveraging Top Material’s proven expertise in large-scale battery engineering and advanced materials, the collaboration will strengthen the global supply chain and support in bringing next-generation battery technologies to market at scale and speed.”
